Custom Prompts: Persistent Context & Multi-Use
Iv Div
Elevate Saga AI from a responsive tool to a proactive partner by enabling persistent, contextual, and reusable AI interactions. This includes linking custom prompts to specific pages/resources, using them with selected text and in chat, and making AI inherently page-aware.
- As a power user, I want to define a global "Persona" or "Style Guide" for the AI in settings, so that every response aligns with my preferred tone and role without me needing to restate it in every prompt. (Benefit: Drastically reduces the "back-and-forth" refinement loop, saving time and API tokens.)
- As a content creator, I want to use my saved Custom Prompts directly inside the "Ask AI" chat interface and apply them to selected text (just like the native Rewrite/Summarise functions), so I can maintain consistency across different types of work. (Benefit: Unlocks the full utility of custom prompts, making them a central part of the workflow rather than isolated tools.)
- As a writer, I expect that when I open the AI chat on a specific page, the AI automatically reads and understands that page's content as the default context, rather than just seeing a page ID or link. (Benefit: Removes the manual step of adding pages to the context window, making interactions faster and more intuitive.)
- As a marketer, I want Saga AI to recognise when my current page links to a relevant resource (e.g., an "Audience Profile" or "Brand Guidelines") and automatically generate a Quick Reference Summary or suggestion based on that linked data. (Benefit: Ensures critical data is never missed and helps users leverage their existing knowledge base proactively.)
- As a user, I want to "pin" specific pages or resources to a Custom Prompt (Master Guidance), so that every time I run that prompt, the AI automatically references the correct source material. (Creates a reliable "Master Guidance" system where prompts are always paired with the correct data, reducing errors and forgotten links.)
Implementing these features will shift Saga AI towards a "Set-and-Forget" efficiency model. Users will invest time upfront in setting their Personas and Prompt Links, but will save significantly on time and costs during daily operations, resulting in a higher retention rate and more efficient resource usage.
I realise this represents a substantial Epic on the roadmap. However, drawing from my experience in product development, this level of integration is often the turning point where an AI platform shifts from being a collection of features to a cohesive workflow engine. It tidies up the user experience significantly, ensuring the technology works for the user, rather than the user constantly working to manage the technology.
